So your TH8, the loot is a bit low, and you are spending a ton on troups. How do i farm?

Well here is a few tips:

with 200 troops available, assuming you've maxed your camps, you can afford a 'mixed attack army' - one that can work equally well to scavenge easy loot from deserted bases and destroy easy th7 bases with lots of loot. I would recommend 12 giants, 8 wbs, 1 healer, 80 archers and 30 goblins. For looting you will only need the archers, goblins and giants (remember their value as meat shields while the other troops grab the loot). Whereas if you go 'all in' target an easy air defence and then deploy giants, healer, wbs as needed and archers/gobs clearing up behind. ~StanDadVille What trophy level range should i be looking at for farming at TH8?

What should i concentrate on when farming?

As we get to th8 and beyond, farming is increasingly about gold rather than both gold and elixir so try not to use spells as they cost gold.

Strategy and Troups Giants, archers, barbs, wall breakers, goblins

I keep 2 heal spells and 1 Lightning Spell ready. The Heal Spell works great for healing goblins in the Gold/Elixir/Dark Elixir Storage area if there are looming Wizard Towers/Mortars. Most of the time I don't need to use it. The 1 Lightning Spell is for taking out Clan Castle troops.

6 - 10 Giants (only used to absorb damage. deploy 1 - 3 at a time. Too many giants can be a waste of housing space and you really just don't need a ton of them. sometimes i only use 4.)

30 - 40 archers (a staple, but when farming, use more goblins than archers)

20 - 30 barbs (are necessary IMO, but if you don't want to use barbs, make a couple more giants/archers instead)

16 - 20 wall breakers (it's always better to have more WBs than not enough. They take little housing space, and any leftovers just carry over to the next attack. Blast your way to the loot and let the goblins do the rest)

50 - 70 goblins (the more the better. level 5 goblins are awesome!)

Giant, Healer

Town hall 8 is a difficult place to farm in because your army is still limited to 200, but your troops are upgraded, so its a little easier.

This is only one army composition and is very success for TH7-TH8 in the trophy range of 1000-1300 depending on your TH.
